JD Solar shows you 5 off-grid solar energy projects, you can use any of those projects as a platform and make changes for your specific needs.
Solar modules and batteries can be added any time, and backup generator can supplement charging when there is shortfall.

It is not neccessary to use the same elements we describe here, you can choose parts from other brands or companies.
Normally, a solar energy project start selecting the solar modules, and this element has a lifetime of about 25 to 30 years.

Example #1 for a small cabin. A single person.

This project could cost around $1,500.00 Voltage system: 12 volts.
Planning energy production: 300-1200 watts (1.2 kw) on a sunny day. This project could be good for a very conservative person. It can start with a 65 watt  or two 125 watt module.
 

Example of what can be used

- 4 or 5 bulbs. DC CFL 13 watts.
- A small stereo equipment that use DC current only.
- A small T.V. 12 volts DC.
- A table lamp using 12 volt DC.
- a small fan using 12 volt DC.

Important note: The time you can run those loads in the night, depend on the batteries amps, and the hours using it. For more information about the hours that a project like this
can run your loads, you must contact JD Solar. We calculate for you the time that this project will work especially on those days of autonomy.

We recommend the use of an AC generator, this is in case you have a few no-sunny day that goes beyond our autonomy days calculation. It could be use to recharge the batteries.
You can use a Honda EU3000.

Example #2 a small house with one or two conservative person.

This project could cost around $2,800.00 Voltage system: 12 volts.
Planning energy production: 1.5 - 3kw on a sunny day. One or two persons could benefit very well with this small project.

Example of what can be used

- Eight efficient light. DC voltage.
- TV.
-Stereo.
- Water pump.
- Electric tools.
- DVD.
- A computer.
- Ceiling fan.
- Satellite receiver.

Important note: This project require the use of an inverter for TV and others loads that required AC voltage.


Example #3 Medium house for two to three conservative persons.

This project could cost around $4,600 System voltage: 24 volts.
Planning energy production: 3 - 6 Kw on a sunny day. This system is to be used the whole year.

- All loads from example #2.
- Vacuum.
- Washing machine.
- Hand-held power tools.
- Small refrigerator that work with DC current.
- Microwave.


Example #4 for an active family of 3 or 4 members.

This project could cost around $7,000.00 System voltage: 24 - 48 volts.
Planning energy production: 5 - 7 Kw on a sunny day.

Example #5 for a big house/small business.

This project could cost around $12,000.00 System voltage: 48 volts.
Planning energy production: 9 - 12 kw. on a sunny day.
